Key responsibilities:

  • Teaching graduate and undergraduate courses related counseling, psychotherapy and/or research in psychology
  • Oversee of internship processes of master students
  • Service to the university and the department

Full-Time Professor in History of Kyrgyzstan at ż۹ʴý

The General Education Department at the ż۹ʴý (ż۹ʴý) invites applications for a full-time faculty position in History of Kyrgyzstan. We are seeking an accomplished and dedicated educator with demonstrated teaching experience and academic expertise in the History of Kyrgyzstan.

Position Title: Full-Time Professor in History of Kyrgyzstan
Department: General Education
Location: ż۹ʴý, Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach undergraduate courses in the History of Kyrgyzstan
  • Develop syllabi, lectures, and educational materials in line with ż۹ʴý’s liberal arts curriculum.
  • Contribute to the design and enhancement of the General Education history curriculum.
  • Coordinate preparation and implementation of State Examination materials in history.
  • Participate actively in departmental meetings, university service, and collaborative initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in History of Kyrgyzstan.
  • At least five years of successful teaching experience at the university level.
  • Demonstrated commitment to student-centered teaching and academic excellence.
  • Evidence of active scholarship or research potential in the field.

Coordinator of TV Studio

Key Responsibilities:

  • ż۹ʴýtaining and providing technical support for the the university’s video and photo equipment;
  • Consulting and assisting students in working with equipment;
  • Organizing and monitoring the issuance of equipment to students;
  • Filming and editing official ż۹ʴý events;
  • Keeping records of equipment and ensuring compliance with usage policies.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Higher education (Bachelor’s degree or above) in film, media, or related fields;
  • Practical skills in working with modern video and photo equipment;

Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT)

Office Manager

Roles and Responsibilities

The MAT Office Manager works closely with the MAT Program Director and the offices of ż۹ʴý to ensure the wellbeing of the MAT Program. This generally includes that all documents are filed accurately and in a timely manner. Additionally, the MAT Office Manager works as a first contact point for students and prospective students. The tasks involved include

  • Working with HR for all full time and part time faculty, mentor, and supervisor applications and contracts;
  • Working with finance and ASC for all contracts for faculty, staff, and students;
  • Working with the registrar for program registration and individual student and program concerns;
  • Working with the medical office, international student office, academic advising, alumni, and other ż۹ʴý offices as required by students or program needs;
  • Participating as the lead recruiting specialist for the MAT program, which entails directing the recruiting team alongside the program director and assisting applicants up through the enrollment and registration processes at ż۹ʴý;
  • Using ż۹ʴý and MAT programs proficiently, such as 1C, study.auca.kg, Google Classroom, and Google Suite;
  • Translating documents as necessary for program needs;
  • Participating in MAT and IOE projects, as opportunities arise;
  • Assisting with grant reporting for student scholarships;
  • Being available for student and prospective student questions;
  • Meeting regularly (weekly, minimum) with the program director to discuss concerns, questions, and logistics;
  • Other tasks that support the MAT program.

This position reports directly to the MAT Program Director.

Qualities of the MAT Office Manager:

We seek an Office Manager who is

  • capable of managing multiple tasks;
  • reliable and trustworthy;
  • fluent in English in addition to Kyrgyz and / or Russian (trilingual is ideal);
  • a strong communicator who works well with many kinds of people;
  • capable of taking initiative to ensure key tasks are completed in a timely manner;
  • available to be our program’s primary on-campus presence;
  • willing to become a key member of the MAT team.

Additional requirements for becoming an Office Manager with the ż۹ʴý MAT Program:

  1. The Office Manager should demonstrate aptitude for working with graduate students--adult learners.
  2. The Office Manager should be organized and responsible; they should also be excellent time managers since they are responsible for working with students and faculty on time-sensitive data, projects, and reports.
  3. The Office Manager should be able to accurately communicate needs and information between the program, offices, and students.
  4. The Office Manager should expect to work 40 hours per week; most of these hours should be on campus as the face of the program, but flexible arrangements can be made for 20% of the work week.

  1. Professional Development. The Office Manager is invited to participate in any advertised events that ż۹ʴý offers, as long as tasks are completed in a timely manner; Office Managers can also take one free course per semester (per ż۹ʴý policy).
  2. Compensation. This is a paid position; Office Managers receive a regular salary, as negotiated with and approved by HR and the MAT program.
  3. Additional Compensation. As opportunities arise, the Office Manager may receive additional income for participation in MAT / IOE projects and / or grant reporting.
