Ìý Ìý The School of Oriental and African StudiesÌýonce again hosted its annual research conference, bringing together scholars to present and discuss their latest academic findings. The event continues to serve as an important platform for critical dialogue on key socio-political and cultural developments in Central Asia and beyond.

On April 11, 2026, żÃÛ¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½ hosted the second Digital Humanities Symposium , bringing together over 50 faculty and students from 10 universities in Bishkek and the regions.

In this interview, Srdjan Uljevic, Assistant Professor at the żÃÛ¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½ GenEd Faculty , shares his perspective on the importance of building a strong academic foundation before pursuing studies abroad. Drawing on his interdisciplinary teaching experience, he discusses the challenges students often face when moving overseas immediately after high school and emphasizes the value of completing undergraduate education in a familiar cultural and social environment.
