This book focuses on the Indo-Pacific region's growing significance as the world's major powers seek to expand their influence in this region. Dr. Hakata specializes in Indo-Pacific international politics and security issues. He formerly worked for Japan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where he was in charge of Africa and official development aid.

"Rethinking Central Asia Today in International Relations: Global Politics With(out) Central Asia?" is the theme of the Graduate Students' academic poster presentation. Students will present their academic posters focusing on Central Asia and Global Politics.
